What Winkly is
Winkly (trywinkly.com) is an AI-powered family activity concierge. You fill out a short form, we generate a personalized plan, and send it to your email. This policy explains what information we collect in that process and how we use it.
What we collect
When you request a plan, we collect:
- Your email address
- Your ZIP code
- The ages of people in your group (kids and adults)
- Dietary restrictions or accessibility notes you provide
- Activity preferences, budget range, and vibe selections
- Any free-text notes you add to your request
We do not collect names of children. Age ranges are sufficient for personalization and we keep it that way intentionally.
If you create an account, we also store your plan history and any star ratings or feedback you provide on past plans.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Generate and deliver your activity plan by email
- Avoid recommending the same venue or activity within 90 days
- Improve plan quality over time
- Send occasional follow-up emails about your plan (you can opt out any time)
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
AI and third-party processing
Your plan request is processed by third-party AI services to generate recommendations. These include:
- Anthropic Claude API — for plan generation and personalization
- Google Places API — for venue discovery and location data
- Google Gemini API — for certain plan types
We share only the information necessary for plan generation with these services. We do not share your email with them.
Data storage
Your data is stored in a Postgres database hosted on Railway (US region). We retain plan history indefinitely to enable features like repeat-recommendation avoidance and plan history for account holders. Anonymous plan submissions are retained but not linked to an account unless you choose to claim one.
Children's privacy
Winkly is directed at parents and adults planning activities for their families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a child under 13, please do not use this service.
Your rights
You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing trywinkly@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete my data." We will remove your email and associated plan history within 30 days.
